SMIA has been serving the Southern Maryland community since 1977  

Intergroups are autonomous "service boards or committees" of the sort mentioned in Tradition Nine. While they are not directly affiliated with Maryland General Service or A.A. World Services there is much cooperation and regular contact among these different service entities.


SMIA STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

OUR PRIMARY PURPOSE SHALL BE TO AID IN THE RELIEF AND RECOVERY
OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM ALCOHOLISM AND ITS' ATTENDING PROBLEMS.
